Stakeholder Forum in collaboration with Bioregional and the Earth Charter Initiative have produced a paper which consolidates a range of principles for the green economy, building on existing agreements and also emerging recommendations. The paper hopes to contribute to the emerging debate on defining principles for the green economy to ensure that it serves in the interest of sustainable development. • Acknowledge that economic activity at current levels consumes more of the Earth’s living and non-living resources than it can sustainably re-generate;

• Note that the momentum towards a green development and growth paradigm, of which "green economy" is an integral part, is essentially driven by a profound shift in public opinion, which has generated a positive response from policy makers,development institutions, financial institutions, civil society, and industry;

The 2011 Global Green Economy Index (GGEI) is a comprehensive analytic tool offering stakeholders in the green economy a robust system to track, analyze and improve upon both the perceptions and performance of national green economies.

The UK government has produced a new publication on the green economy: 'Enabling the Transition to a Green Economy: government and business working together', which sets out what the transition to a green economy means for businesses.

The United Nations Environment Programe, the United Nations Global Compact, Oxfam and the World Resources Institute have released a study entitled "Adapting for a Green Economy: Companies, Communities and Climate Change."

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), together with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and UN Office of The High Representative for the Least Developed Countries, Landlocked Developing Countries and Small Island Developing States (UN-OHRLLS) has produced a joint publication entitled "Why the Green Economy Matters for Least Developed Countries"

The Canadian Institute for Environmental Law and Policy (CIELAP) has consulted with a wide range of professional business associations and non-government organizations from across the country  to produce a report on what a Green Economy could mean for Canada in the lead-up to Rio+20.

A panel of leading academics and industry experts have prepared a paper titled The Transition to a Green Economy: Benefits, Challenges and Risks from a Sustainable Development Perspective, which was presented to the Second Preparatory Committee Meeting for United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development.

The Network of Regional Governments for Sustainable Development (nrg4SD) have produced 2 papers on the Green Economy, one of the main Themes of Earth Summit 2012.
